Privacy Policy

Information we collect

• Account information: your name, email address, and a securely hashed password when you create an account. If you enable two-factor authentication or passkeys, we store the related security data needed to verify you.
• Resume and profile content: the information you add to your resumes (experience, education, skills, etc.) so we can build, preview, and export them for you.
• Payment information: payments are processed by our payment gateway, Razorpay. We do not collect or store your card, UPI, or bank details — Razorpay does. We retain a record of the transaction (plan, amount, status, order ID) for billing and support.
• Usage & device data: if product analytics are enabled, we collect anonymised usage events (pages viewed, features used) to improve the service. We do not sell this data.
• Free tools: text you paste or files you upload into our free ATS checker and AI-likeness tools are analysed in the request and not stored on our servers.

How we use your information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the service.
• To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
• To process payments and provide billing support.
• To send essential service emails (verification, password reset, receipts). We do not send marketing email without your consent.
• To detect, prevent, and address abuse, fraud, or security issues.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the product, under appropriate confidentiality terms:

• Razorpay— payment processing (see Razorpay's own privacy policy).
• Hosting & infrastructure — to operate our servers and database.
• Analytics — if enabled, to understand product usage.
• When required by law, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.

Browser extension

Our optional Chrome browser extension (“Tailor with HumanifyCV”) helps you use HumanifyCV from the page you are viewing. It only runs when you click its toolbar button. On that click, it reads the content of the current tab — a job posting (its title, company, and description) or your own LinkedIn or Naukri profile (headline, summary, and skills) — and passes that text to humanifycv.com so it can prefill the resume-tailoring or profile-optimizer tools. This may include personal information contained in the page, such as your name.

The extension does not read pages in the background, does not track your browsing history, and never types into or submits anything on LinkedIn, Naukri, or any other site. It contains no remote or third-party code, and it does not sell or share the data it reads with any third party. The text it reads is used only to provide the feature you requested, under this policy; if you save the result, it is stored with your HumanifyCV account as described above. You can remove the extension from your browser at any time.

Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and secure your session. If analytics are enabled, a small number of analytics cookies may be used. We do not use advertising cookies.

Data retention

We keep your account and resume data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain records (for example, transaction records) to meet legal or accounting obligations.

Security

We use industry-standard measures — encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls — to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to address vulnerabilities promptly.

Your rights

You can access and update your information from your account settings, export your resumes, and request deletion of your account. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected].

Children

Our services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you.
